Jeff Mason

Jeff has spent a lifetime in the Horticulture industry. With over 30 years of experience, he has worked in virtually every aspect of the industry. He is owner of Mason House Gardens, growing and supplying hardy perennials, speciality annuals, heirloom and uncommon vegetables, tropical plants and shrubs.

In addition to teaching at George Brown, Jeff lectures to garden clubs, horticultural societies, as well as Canada Blooms and Successful Gardening. He has also contributed to Canadian Gardening and Gardenmaking magazines.

Arlene Hazzan Green

Arlene Hazzan Green is co-founder of The Backyard Urban Farm Company, a family owned business that designs, installs and maintains organic vegetable gardens in homes, schools, and businesses throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Arlene has been an avid vegetable gardener for over 20 years. She founded BUFCO with her husband Marc in 2009 when they realized that they could effect positive social change by encouraging and helping people grow their own food. In the gardening “off-season”, Arlene maintains a successful career working as a director in the motion picture industry.
